Fun Masculine Riley and Company card!!!

I decided that I wanted to do a really fun, masculine card using the newly released Flower Riley from Riley and Company.  Here is my Riley...

Riley was colored with copic markers.  The flowers were created using the MS flower border punch.
The stems and leaves were drawn in by hand with my copic multiliner pen.  The white centers were added with a gel pen.  The flowers were glued on individually after being punched from coordinating color dp.
The sentiment was computer generated and mounted on bayou blue and really rust which had been cut into strips and the end was punched with a round edge tag punch.
The finishing touches were 3 blue dew drops in the lower right hand corner and a rust and cream flower with dark blue button in the upper left corner holding the sentiment tag in place.
Flower Riley is wonderful for many different occassions and you can find him at the Riley and Company store, perfect for any time you want to send flowers!!!

Thanks for stopping by,  I am planning to finish a Mo's Digital Pencil image tonight and really looking forward to getting back into my normal routine :)

Gotta run and go color :)

Mo's Digital Pencil--Sorry Shanna

I finally have time to post my, Mo's Digital Pencil,  Sorry Shanna card that I created a few days ago but if you read my previous post you know why I am just getting it posted :)  Here she is:

Isn't she just the sweetest little girl?  She picked these beautiful tulips for her Mommy, only she got them from her Mommy's garden.  I think her Mommy will understand, don't you?
She is colored with copic markers and sponged with Momento Potters Clay ink.  The dp is from my favorite My Minds Eye dp pad called Delightful.
The butterflies were punched with a MS punch from cs that I had run through the cuttlebug with the filligree embossing folder.  I added two half pearls to the body of each butterfly and mounted them on coordinating blue butterflies.
The ribbon of white dotted swiss tied with a knot bow.

Just wanted to let you know too that Mo's Digital Pencil on Paper Craft Planet went over 900 members on Friday and is well on it's way to 1000 members with 931 members.  We all know that Mo's images are phenomenal but that is still amazing, but then so is Mo.  The freebie image that Mo offered for reaching the 900 member milestone is awesome.  Called Between it is perfect for that young girl who is maybe too old for the childish images but not quite to the teen image stage yet.  Take a peek you will know what I am talking about!!!
Wednesday's Child, boy, is available now as well so be sure to check out Mo's wonderful images if you haven't found them yet.

I really NEED to color so that is what I am going to do.  I have to go to work tomorrow but now that my and hubbies medical issues are being dealt with and baby Gage is here things should return to normal.  Remember in my family normal is a Relative Term and not all of my relatives are!  If you understand what I just said maybe you are a long lost family member of mine LOL.

Have a great night,  Happy Coloring

Lucky #13 Say Hello to Gage

Just when you think you are going to get a really quiet restful week-end, Surprise!!!

I got home from work last night at about 12:30 am and my daughter called at 1:15 and said that I needed to come watch the kids.  I had just gotten logged online to post my Sorry Shanna card so shut down the laptop, told my husband where I was going and headed the 10 min to her house.  I stayed up for updates until about 3:30 and then went to sleep as Austin had school today and we had to get up at 7.

Gage made his appearance at almost 3:00 p.m. today and weighed in at 7 lb 7 oz and 21 1/2 inches long.  Gage is our 13th grandchild.

Here are a couple of pix for your viewing pleasure:

I will post my Sorry Shanna card tomorrow night.  We have a big day tomorrow.  Because Mom is at the hospital, Grandpa Jim is taking Austin to a Boy Scout archery instructional class with his troop.  From there his Dad is taking him to a Birthday party for a classmate at the Humane Society and right after that is Cole's 5th Birthday Party.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Black and White-- Mo's Digital Challenge

Yeah,  Today is Thursday and that means Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge is here.   Lisa Cook has had some wonderful challenges for us this month and today's is no exception.  Make a card using only black and white is this week's challenge.
I thought that the Sister's Joy stamp would be perfect:

What a fun card this was to make.  This image, as are all of Mo's images, is just so happy!!!
The image was colored with 5 shades of grey and then I used my MS fancy scalloped border punch for the outside edges.
The main image was mounted on black with white polka dots and that was mounted on a white with black double diagonal stripes.
The bow was created by just making a straight bow and mounting a large white button in the middle.
The sentiment was created by using the smallest of the Spellbinder Fancy Tags which I outlined the inside oval and colored the outside parts with my black copic marker so it looked layered.
Be sure to check out the rest of the DT blogs to see what they have created as well.
Mo's Digital Pencil on Paper Craft Planet is 4 members short of reaching 900 members.  Isn't that phenomenal?!?  If you haven't joined yet be sure to join because when we reach 900 there is another freebie for all members!!!
Mo also has a lot of new images on her blog and in the store right now.  She just started her Birth day boy images, you know...Monday's child is full of..... yep those.  Monday and Tuesday are posted and boy are they cute!!!

See you all tomorrow.

Happy coloring!

Riley and Company Challenge card--Use buttons!!

Sorry I am two days late posting my Riley and Company first bi-weekly challenge card.  The first challenge is being hosted by Frances, who chose the theme to use buttons on your card.  Simple enough, I have tons of buttons and you probably do too.  Here is my Painter/Artist Riley card:

I used some green and blue dp that looks like it was watercolored and then I over stamped a button collage background stamp and a crayola stamp to carry on the theme of painting and color (in Riley's antler)

I used my label 4 spellbinder dies to cut out the Riley and matting blue label.  I left the Riley image in the die and sponged the blue edging on before I removed it from the die.
I added a First Prize ribbon button from my stash and two larger buttons from my antique button collection.

Thanks for stopping by and next time I will be on the same page as the rest of the DT.

Be sure to stop by the other DT members blogs if you haven't already, they have some wonderful Riley projects to show you.

Lauri and Patti will be posting their challenge cards in the next day or two.  I'm not the only one having a too full week :)

See you tomorrow with my Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge card.  Yep, tomorrow is Thursday already!!!

Happy coloring,

Cathy

Tea Time!!

It's been way too long since I colored a Mo's Digital Pencil image.  I was in the habit of coloring at least one a day, boy have I been bad!!!  Here is a darling image called Some Tea that Mo created last week and I loved it.  Tea Parties are sooo sweet!

The image was colored with copic markers and I added some copic multiliner to the hair for curly details.
The flower is a MS punch, the curly scroll tag is spellbinder and the brad in the middle of the flower that says FUN was from the Target dollar bin :)
The flower stems dp is from the My Mind's Eye Delightful pad as is the green.  The pink cs is just some plain cs that I keep on hand for layers.

This sweet image is called "Some Tea" and you can find it at Mo's Digital Pencil.  Mo has lots of really cute Valentine images and two little buckaroo kids on rocking horses...Too Cute.

Well I have to get to bed as I have a Dr. appt in the morning.  Hopefully my last for a while!!!

Catch you tomorrow or Wed for sure.

Happy Coloring

I got to meet Tanya!!!!

I got to meet Tanya of Stamper's Ink.  As a DT member for Riley and Company this is so exciting.  Eat your hearts out gals!!!  Okay, here is the proof:

Beautiful Tanya on the left and Moi on the right(shorter).
I had made the trek to Kansas City on the spur of the moment, still trying to finish the last half of our family Christmas gatherings.  Due to some scheduling conflicts between the two families I ended up going on down the extra hour and a half to my oldest daughter's since it wasn't going to work for her to get up North KC to my other daughter's.  Guess who's wonderful Stamper's Ink store is on the way to my daughter's house.  Yep!!!  Tanya.   I did call on Friday afternoon to make sure that Tanya was going to be there as meeting the Head Moose was my main reason for stopping by .
It was so worth the trip.  Tanya made me feel like a long lost friend whom she hadn't seen in years rather than someone she only knew through the internet.  She gave me a sneak peek of the next few releases and oh, boy am I excited, the next year is going to be soooo fun!!!
Poor Tanya and her wonderful staff not only put up with me but my daughter and her three children.  Cheyenne(9) loves to do crafty stuff, and loves to make cards with me, was so excited to be able to do a Riley make and take while we were there.
I did a little shopping while I was there, Stamper's Ink had more Spellbinder dies than I have seen anywhere else and I found the Elegant Tags that I have wanted forever!   Be sure to check out her wonderful store where she sells everything you need to make beautiful cards or scrapbook pages.  There is a schedule of classes and all of the gals who work there are Copic Certified.  Plus they have Riley!!!

Peggy Marsh, who only lives a few miles from Stamper's Ink , and I have been trying to get together to color for months.  I didn't have time, once I decided to go, to make arrangements to meet her.  She said that she had been at Dana's (Riley DT member) for a craft day.  Once the weather straightens up and I get to quit going to the Dr more often than I go to work URGHHHHH! we ARE going to get together.

Getting to meet Tanya and the gals at the store was so much fun and made a great week-end with family even more special!!!!.

See you all tomorrow.  Can you believe that I haven't colored in 4 days, way too long.

Oops!! I about forgot, here is a pix of Stamper's Ink from the parking lot:

I need to unpack from my trip but wanted to share my excitement with my friends.

Love ya!!!

Riley and Company New Release Blog Hop !!!!

Welcome to the Riley and Company First New Release Blog Hop! If you came here from Riley and Company,( Tanya) blog you are in the right spot.  If not please start at Tanya's blog because you don't want to miss a single blog along the way :)   The DT has some special cards and projects for your viewing pleasure and at each DT blog.  I have two cards for you tonight featuring Birthday Riley and Letter and Rose Riley:

Kind of a Girly Birthday card.  You can't really see but if you double click the card you can see that there is glitter pen on the ribbons and balloon.  With the lattice border punch from MS and all the checks I kept the rest of the card kind of simple.

Letters and Rose Riley can be used for many occassions not just Valentines, anytime you want to send a little LOVE :)  For today it is a Valentine card:

Riley was colored with copics as was the shadow around him and then the iimage was sponged around the outside with Tim Holtz worn lipstick distress ink.  The red main panel was run through the Hearts cuttlebug embossing folder.  Riley was mounted on red/white checked dp.
I left enough room on the left side of the white panel to punch the MS heart border punch and tied my red/white checked ribbon.
The flowers are created with the MS four leaf flower punch, formed with a stylus and glued together.  A seed pearl was added to the center.  The medallion is a MS punch as well with a red button tied with white cord.

Your next stop on the Hop is Laurie
Be sure to leave a comment here and on each DT blog for a chance to win a Riley image of your choice.  Each DT member will have a random drawing from the comments left on their blog

The new release stamps will be available tomorrow at the Riley and Company website.  Thanks for stopping by, we are soooo excited to see all of you Riley and Sophie Moose lovers!!!

Hugs,

Cathy

Paris Exposition: Inspired by the Paris Exposition of 1889, for which the famed Eiffel Tower was built, this stamp collection features bold vintage style images including a French version of "What's up?". In French, we translated it to be "Quoi de nuef?" There are several collage elements to this collection which will provide you the flexibility to add multiple layers to your creations.

Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather: Edwardian romanticism inspires this collection of bird images. Included is a perfect ATC background of German text. Day 2 Sneak Peeks--Riley and Company

Wow, Riley fans are so  much fun!!!.  Thanks for all the wonderful comments you left me today.  Today is Day 2 of the Riley and Company sneak peeks.  I have another new release, Heart Balloon Riley.  You can double click the image for a close up (if you want).

Very red and white Valentine card for you today.  Riley was colored with copics and cut out.
The spellbinder scalloped hearts were cut from cs that had been run through the cuttlebug with a filligree embossing folder.  Riley was glued onto the white scalloped heart which was then popped up on dimensionals.
The dainty heart flower dp is from my stash and was purchased at Michaels last year.  The red and white check was punched with the MS heart border punch, which is fast becoming my favorite Valentine embellishment this year :)
I added a band of pearls and ribbon to the top and bottom for a more elegant look in keeping with the embossed hearts and dainty dp.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Riley and Company DT new release cards today.  Aren't the new Riley's CUTE!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by.  See you with another Riley card tomorrow!

Day 1 Sneak Peeks--Riley and Company!!!

Today is the first day of Sneak Peeks for Riley and Company.  All of you Riley and Sophie lovers know that Riley the Moose and Sophie Moose went to live in Kansas last summer and after a few months to adjust to their new loving home they are ready to party with a new release!!!

Riley looks so cute holding this bouquet of flowers doesn't he.  I found this dp at Michaels last week and thought it would be perfect for Moose cards and besides it was in  my favorite color combinations, blue and brown.
I wanted to add some detail so used a MS flower border punch for the brown strip that holds the brown check ribbon.  Added the same brown check ribbon to tie the button holes and added leaf sprigs punched with a MS punch.
The faux flower brads in the corners are left from punching the border punch.

Be sure to check out the other DT members sneak peeks for today and be sure to join us for the First Riley and Company Blog Hop, Wed. January 20, to kick off the stamp release on January 21.  You are gonna love what you see.  Be sure to leave a comment at each DT members blog during the blog hop for a chance to win a Riley stamp.  Can't wait to see you there.

Sooo Sweet

I was invited to join Phindy's Place on Paper Craft Planet by my "friend" Ann English.  Phindy's Place is a great place on Paper Craft Planet with wonderful digital images.  You know that I am a digital image snob, if the images aren't wonderful in detail and printabililty I don't hang around for long.  Phindy's images are wonderful.  Phindy's Place hit 300 members this week and this was the freebie for members, isn't it just the cutest?!!!

This image Soo Good was so much fun to color.  I really need to get some lighter pink copic markers but I think it turned out pretty good with what I had.
In my usual style I colored the image and then struggled to find the perfect dp.  I wanted something with strawberries on it.  Do you think that I could find any.  Went to the internet to find some digi paper, no such luck... then I remembered that I had bought some digital paper from GinaK Designs  yep, the mind is not failing me.  Printed this cute dp onto cardstock and I was set.
I sponged around the image with SU pretty pink ink and matted the layers on some pink polka dot dp that I had in my stash.
The ribbon was some that I had dyed myself.  I love that it always matches the SU ink colors that way.

Be sure to check out Phindy's etsy shop for all of her wonderful images.

Also a reminder that ,  Monday Jan, 18th, is the Riley and Company New Release Sneak peek Day 1.   We are so excited that Riley and Company is now in full swing and can't wait to show you what Tanya is offering new this month.
The DT members will have sneak peeks on their blogs until the release on January 21 so be sure to stop by and see the new Riley stamps.  So exciting to get new Moose :)

See you all tomorrow, I am enjoying some coloring time after all the Dr. appts and necessary secret stamping for DT work.  It looks from my blog that I haven't been doing anything but starting tomorrow you will see lots of new stuffs!!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Coloring!!!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Sketch Challenge My favorite

I was very excited to see that Lisa Cook, the Challenge Hostess for January, chose a sketch challenge for this week.  Sketch Challenges are my favorite,  Thanks Lisa for  great challenge for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge this week:  Here is my Valentine card using Nessa of the Shy Valentine images:

You are not going to believe me when I say it, but... I watercolored this image using an aqua painter and SU ink pads.  See, I don't ALWAYS use copics!!!
The image and my Regal Rose cs ovals were cut out using my Fiskers oval cutter template.
The dp and ribbon were all in my stash from last year.
I looked everywhere for the red heart brads that I know I have but couldn't find, so I used my R29 copic marker to color the white heart brads.

This image is one of 4 Shy Valentines that Mo's Digital Pencil released last week.  There are two boys and two girls.

Be sure that you check out the rest of the DT projects and play along with us.  The sketch is available here that is to be used for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, always love to have ya.

Happy Coloring,

Enough with the snow... I'm ready for Spring

Okay, I know that it is only the first part of January but we still have about two foot of snow on the ground and I for one have had enough.  Since I can't do anything about the weather I decided that I would just create a Springy card, besides I have been wanting to create a card with this awesome Mummu;s bike image from Mo's Digital Pencil.

Mummu is colored with copic markers and sponged with SU blue bayou ink.  If you take a close look at the denim skirt I used my copic blender pen to give the denim effect on it,
Because I wanted a little vintage look to the card I used a half doiley that I had picked up at an antique store in Kansas last fall.  Exactly what I was looking for.  I added a key tied with a sheer ribbon in the lower left corner and prima flowers in the upper right corner.
A trio of dew drops in the opposite corners and I was happy with the results.
Thanks for stopping by.
I am going to try to get another card posted tomorrow before I go to work and then it may be a day or two before I have time again.
I am trying to get my DT cards done between Dr. appointments and work and there are only so many hours in the day.
Thanks to everyone who left heart warming comments on my post concerning the loss of my Moppett, you have no idea how much it meant to me that you understood my loss, and for your support :)

See you tomorrow,

Happy Coloring

A Very Sad Goodbye to my Best Friend!

Just when you think that your week can't get any worse, your best friend dies.  Moppett was a shelter dog that we got about 12 years ago.  She quickly became MY dog and followed me everywhere, loved to go in the car and was never more than 3 feet from where ever I was.
In the past year she has gone almost completely blind and was losing her hearing but she was happy, knew where everything was in the house and outside so life was good.  She was always happy to see me when I came home and no matter what my day had been her excitement of having you there made everything all right.
I knew for a few weeks that she wasn't doing as good as she had been and knew that it was just a matter of time before I would have to make a very hard decision as to when life wasn't "good" anymore and I couldn't stand it if she were to suffer.
It has been so cold and so much snow that I have had to carry her down the stairs to go do her business in the yard but I didn't mind.
She acted like she needed to go so I got my coat and carried her down the stairs and when I put her down she collapsed.  I picked her up and held her for the rest of her life which fortunately for her was only a couple of more minutes.
I held her and cried for my loss, but am grateful that she had enjoyed a wonderful life with us and I am forever grateful to her for her unconditional love.

Bye Moppie,  I Love you!

Mo's Digital Pencil on PCP hit 800 members

I know that you have been through this drill before.  When Mo's Digital Pencil group on Paper Craft Planet hits a new centennial milestone we get a new freebie.  Well yesterday Mo hit 800, isn't that amazing?, so we got a new Bella and Bronte image.  Look how cute!!!

I know that I have a tendancy to end up with dark cards sometimes and I wanted this to be a Happy bright Love card so I left a lot of Bella's dress and sweater white.  Did it work?

I think you guys might get tired of the Heart Punch from Martha Stewart before Valentines but I really like what it adds to the card.
I added a few buttons and triple prima flower in the upper right corner and my card is complete.

You could have this cute image free too if you join the Mo's Digital Pencil Group on either PCP or SNR.

Short post tonight,  it's been a long stressful day but that is another post entirely!!!

Love ya,
Cathy

Warm Birthday Wishes!!! Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

Okay, Christmas is over for most people.  Our family is still trying to get the other half together.  The weather just isn't cooperating. This week we aren't having 15 inches of snow(we only got 5 today), so Kansas City is URGGGGHHHH!!!  I think we will opt for Christmas in July from now on :)

Today is Thursday and that means....Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge!!!   Always one of my favorite days.  I am still trying to get into the swing of things and getting back to my regular posts.  I love this image of Miki and her dog sled pups.  Don't they just make you feel good?!?

The image was colored with copic markers and sponged with Tim Holtz faded corduroy distress ink.  I thought that the Eskimo Kisses village scene dp was winter and not just Christmas, so that was what I chose.  I wanted to create a warm wish Birthday card so added the MS heart punched border to the green cs.
The tag was created by stamping Birthday Wishes on vellum and gluing that to the backside of a Tim Holtz fragment tag.  This way the sentiment ink can't be rubbed off and I like that you can see the dp behind the sentiment.
Be sure that you check out all of the new Valentine images at Mo's Digital Pencil, and we are only 2 members away from another freebie.  Can you believe that Mo's Paper Craft Planet group will have 800 members.  We all know how amazing her creations are but that is still a LOT of members.

While you are at it play along in our challenge that this week is to make a Birthday card.  All you have to do is use a Mo image and post it to the Challenge site.  Mr. Linky is being a stinker this week so just add your blog link or gallery link to your comment so we can come shower you with Luv!!!

I have got to get a new white gel pen but they are not all created equal, even the same brands.   I used one for the fur on Miki's jacket and the fur on the pups.  I really like the added detail it gives to make the fur really look like fur!!!
Thanks for stopping by.  I promise to post daily now so be sure to stop by, love to have you.

Happy Coloring!!!

You Rock!!!

Just wanted to pop in and show you a cute Rockin Roxie  Rock Star image, from Sassy Studio Designs, that would be perfect for all those teen and tween girls that you have problems finding an age appropriate image for:

Gotta love the punk hair which I had a ball coloring in pinks and purple.  The coloring is done with copic markers and then the guitar was glitterfied (made up word) with a Sukura star dust glitter pen and some glitter streaks were added to Roxie's hair as well.
Sassy Studio's has lots of fun images so you should go check them out.  Lindsay, owner and illustrator, draws wonderful digital images for your coloring pleasure and there is lots of variety so something for everyone!!

I will be back later with another project, just not sure what yet.  I have a lot of coloring to do and adjusting to a new work schedule.
Catch you later, happy coloring!!!

Happy New Year from Computer Riley!!

Computer Riley is here to wish you a Happy New Year.  He knows that exciting things are going to be happening at Riley and Company and he wants to make sure that you are online and ready to enjoy the fun things that will be starting soon.  It has taken him and Sophie a little while to get settled in Kansas.  Here is his New Year's greeting:

Just a fun little card that takes only a few minutes to make as it is basically all done with die cuts.  The top note die cut for the polka dot green panel.  The numbers are Cuttlebug alphabet numbers,  The circles and scallopped circles are spellbinder nestibilities.
I used my air brush to spray around the die before the Riley image was removed which leaves such a nice white border.  I also used the air brush around the white section below the green top note panel just so it wasn't soooo white :)
The DT is getting ready for some exciting new things to get Riley and Company in full swing with Releases, and sneak peaks.  Just as an FYI  Riley and Company cards that are placed in the SplitCoast Stampers gallery can be included in the Riley and Company Gallery by adding the keywords Riley or Sophie.

See you guys tomorrow.  It is snowing again here in Omaha although we are only supposed to get a couple of inches, I have already had my quota of snow for the year :)  Not only is it snowing but it is below zero and supposed to be super cold for a couple of weeks,  ugh!!!  Send me warm thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Riley and Company website.

I start working nights again this week Yippeeee!!! , The only thing wrong with that is  I have to work Sunday's from 11 to 6 but it is worth it to work Monday through Thurs from 5 to midnight.

Happy New Year and see you tomorrow.

Sassy Studio had a DT call!

Sassy Studio Designs had a DT call a few weeks ago and I was one of the 9 ladies chosen for the DT from January to March.  Isn't that exciting!!!  I was allowed to choose a few images and here is one that I completed as a salute to the Vintage traditions of having Masquerade parties:

The mask and feathers were colored with copic markers and outlined with the Sukara Stardust glitter pen.  The feathers were accentuated with white gel pen to add dimension.
To keep with the vintage feel that I was going for I airbrushed around the outside border of the mask image with my copic airbrush system.  The prima flower centers are vintage buttons from Michael's as is the larger vintage heart button in the upper right corner.
The other images that I chose are all different and I can't wait to show you some more.  I am trying to catch up on my coloring and creating after taking Christmas week off so bear with me.
I am very excited about the new year and all of the exciting releases that I will get to show you this month so be sure to keep stopping by, Love to have you!!

Happy coloring!

Melanie Muenchinger Guest Designers 2008 to 2010 Blog Hop!

Cheers!!! and Happy New Year !!!

If you arrived here as a regular follower welcome, but if you would like to take the Melanie Muenchinger 2 years of Stamps Blog Hop you may want to begin at Charmine's blog and follow the blog lists from there.  You don't want to miss a single one. One of the highlights of my stamping year was to be asked by Melanie to be her guest designer for the A Charmed Life stamp set.   Each Guest Designer that Melanie asked to showcase her stamp set is participating in the blog,  isn't that cool.  Be sure to end at Melanie Muenchinger's blog and leave comments as there will be random prizes.
I was the guest designer for the Charmed Life stamp set and this wine glass is perfect to wish you all a Happy New Year with a champagne toast.
