Tribute to Amanda--

Several weeks ago, the Mo's Digital Pencil world was stunned by the sudden loss of a wonderful one of our own, a fellow DT member Amanda Reed.  Mo created the following adorable image as a way for us to show our love to Amanda and her family and her love for cats and use the purchase price of the image as a donation to an Animal Shelter in Amanda's town.

The image, Amanda,  is adorable and I know that Amanda smiled down a little when my card was done, Here is a little cutie just for you Amanda dear:

I think the sentiment says pretty much everything, the memories of all of the fun challenges we shared will live on forever and she will be watching over the remaining challenges smiling at the Mo images she loved so much.

The only change to our normal Challenge format is that this fortnight you must use the Amanda image available for 1.00 and there will be a random drawing for a 5 dollar gift card.

Have a wonderful creative week and thanks for stopping by.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Clean and Simple--Really ME????!!?

Thursday is Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Day every 2nd and 4th  Thursday of the Month and this week the hostess is Kim, who chose the theme CAS.  Here is my rendition of CAS which is not always so simple for me, I do layers, and I do embellishments, so a single layer besides the base cs  is a struggle but here you go:

Winter Fairy Halla is the image I chose for the theme this week. Isn't she just the cutest little chiller? There are many Winter Fairies to choose from and they are all wonderful.

The Challenge Blog is getting a little lonely as there have not been as many entries as in the beginning. Maybe everyone is getting kids started in school and adjusting to the new schedules and kids activities  so if you have time we love to have you join us and grab a Mo image and enter it for a chance to win a chance at the Top 3 badge and also a random drawing for a 5 dollar gift card for each 25 entries each challenge.  Even I have time to make a card for the challenge every two weeks :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day/week :)

Creative Inspiration Challenge card

My DT buddy, Tracy, is the guest designer for Creative Inspiration Challenge Blog right now and she made a darling card and it inspired me to create a card for one of my many Mo images I have colored lately.  I am always in the mood to color but sometimes I like to do something new and different, thanks Tracy :)

I really wanted to color this little darling Mo's digital Pencil image  in neutral colors so she may look dull to some of you but she looks very natural to me.

I love the leather flower but I thought it fit the theme of this outdoorsy image, maybe a little heavy but I tried to keep the rest of the card light and I think the polka dots keep it young and happy.  Work with me here :)

Thanks for the new and different Challenge Tracy, I have bookmarked it, hopefully I will find time to play often. I appreciate a good sketch challenge, less brain strain for me :)

Hugs,
Cathy

Mo's Digital Pencil--Fall

Are you ready for Fall in your neck of the woods?  In Nebraska, it is getting cooler and a little too early for my liking....I prefer summer and warmer temps, but no one asked me if I was ready :(    But I am ready for Tracy's wonderful challenge this week at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge,  which is Fall because Mo created two new Valerie images and I LOVE Valerie:

Aren't they just adorable?   You get both images in the purchase, I love two for one images especially when they are so darn cute.

Be sure to grab a image from the Mo's Digital Store and play along in the Challenge for a chance to win a 5 dollar gift certificate for each 25 entries in the challenge.   While you are checking things out be sure to check out the DT members cards and their choices for the Fall Inspiration.

While you are checking out Mo's sites be sure to check out Belle and Bronte's Clubhouse where you can chat with Mo, DT members, and all of the members, ask questions, show what you are working on, show off your projects and see Mo's newest images as they are created....doesn't get much better than that.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

:Puppy in Boot/ Aurora Wings

I think I made the deadline for the Puppy in Boot Contest if not I got a cute card made, never a bad thing.  When Aurora Wings reached 1500 members Mitzi gave this darling image and offered a Contest which ends tomorrow.  Here is my card:

As with ALL of the Aurora Wings images I had so much fun coloring this darling image.  I usually go for the more intricate detailed images but also love every image I have ever seen that Mitzi has created.  They are not all my personal style but all are a wonderful art project to color.  Thanks for what you do Mitzi.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by Mitzi's Etsy store and just try to buy only one image...like the tootsie roll owl you can't do it...

Have a wonderful creative day.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Back to School

Can you believe it has been two weeks already and time for a new Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge?  The theme for this two weeks is Back to School, brought to you by my super talented DT member Tracy and I chose Tom Sawyer:

How can you not think of Tom Sawyer for Back to School if you lived in my day, as my kids used to say, the dark ages, gotta love kids :) as it was a classic that we read in grade school and I enjoyed it enough along with Huckleberry Finn to make me want to read more books.  The rest is history LOL.

I colored this darling image with copics and used a fence SVG file which I sponged to look likek peeling paint.  I can just see Tom putting down the paint bucket and grabbing the fishing pole with Aunt Polly hollering out the door to not be late for dinner :)
Be sure to grab a Mo's image and play along in the challenge, for every 25 entries there is a chance to win a 5 dollar gift certificate to the Mo's Digital Pencil shop and there are new images and lots of old ones to choose from, so can't wait to see what you color up :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful colorific time.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Girl's Birthday

Where does the time go, it is already time for a new Mo's Digital Pencil challenge, and although we had an extra week in July, we are ready with our Girl's Birthday Challenge for you for the next two weeks.  I chose the adorable, Baby Fairy Bee:

I love the hexagon die cut, which is actually a SVG free file I  found online,  with this adorable image, reminds me of honeycomb...work with me here :)  Because the theme is Girl's Birthday I added the Happy "B" ee Day sentiment.  A few buttons and a little lace and I think it is an adorable for any sweet girl card :)

Be sure to join us by entering your challenge card using  Mo's Digital Pencil image linked to the challenge blog and you might win a  5 dollar gift certificate given for every 25 entries in a random drawing for each challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week.  Be sure to join us at Bella and Bronte's Clubhouse where you can chat and show off your creations too :)

Sprite Challenge at Aurora Wings

I found an awesome site with whimsical digital images I love to color a few months ago and try to join in their challenges when I can. One of the current challenges they are having right now is using their darling Sprite images and Mitzi was kind enough to give us a free Sunflower image to play along....thanks so much.

Here is what I created for the Aurora Wings Sprite challenge:

I really like sunflowers and especially enjoy coloring them so this was a win win for me :)

If you get a chance grab the image and play along, the challenge goes for the month of August.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Things with Wings

Thursday is time for a new Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and my sweet DT sistah Anja chose the theme  Things with Wings.  Oh, the possibilities.... with all of the wonderful Mo images, what to choose?!?  I chose Fairy Sleepy because she is so sweet:

This sweet image was colored with copic markers and although I may have gotten a little bright with the colors on the wings I think she is dreaming in Technicolor with sweet vibrant dreams of all of the beautiful things she has seen today.  She is dreaming so hard that fairy dust is escaping from her fingers LOL.  Maybe I am dreaming in technicolor :)

Be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog to check out the rest of the DT projects for this challenge and enter to be one of the random winners of a 5.00 gift certificate to the shop given for every 25 entries to the challenge. Easy peasy!!!.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day!!!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Boy Birthday!

Hello it's Thursday and so it's a new  Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge.  I am so excited because I have been gone for a LONG time and it feels so good to be back and I have a card to show you with a totally cool image called Wiz:

I love anything a little whimsical or with a touch of fantasy and Wiz certainly fits the category.  I colored him in  slightly non-traditional wizard colors to be a little different, who me?!?  I had this awesome Tim Holtz washi tape with the periodic table symbols on it and thought it would be perfect for this card.  I also added a Tim Holtz Destiny disc to the polka dot ribbon knot at the top of the page.  Added the wizards castle and window with vines cut with my cricut I thought symbolized the period too.  It is truly Magic, just like the young man I created the birthday card for.

I absolutely love the image and can spend hours coloring it, It can be used for so many different occasions or it can even be framed which I did with a blue one I did first :).

Be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT has created for their Boys Birthdays, I know they are awesome, because I peeked LOL.  Mo has also been working on tons of new images so be sure to drop by the store and grab them and I know you will browse through  and find some other images you can't live without, I always do.  Play in the challenge for a change to win a gift certificate, which are given randomly for each 25 entries in the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week :)

How to make Paper Flowers with no Die Cuts

I love to make paper flowers, all kinds and all sizes.  I usually use my Cricut machine but I know a lot of people don't have the machine and or die cuts to make the flowers and it is really easy to make them by hand too. Let me show you how.   Please be for-warned this tutorial has 11 photos to show you each step :)

First I want to show you the finished flower to you know what you are working toward:

First of all you are going to need  a minimum of a  piece of card stock.  A pair of decorative edge scissors (optional), tweezers or quilling pen, clear glue, paint brush ( optional).

This is a piece of cs I cut to 3X3  for my medium sized flower.

Using my regular scissors I cut a spiral in a uniform width ending in the center as shown.

Using my decorative scissors I trim the outside edge of the spiral from the outer edge to the center.  this will be the outer edge of the flower petal you will see.  You can sponge it with color if you want at this point.

Because I wanted to soften the edge a little I used the bulb end of the paint brush to rub in a circular motion to gently break down the paper a bit and the edge of the flower may roll a little depending on how hard you press.  I used a rubber embossing mat under the  flower to help with the pressure.

The tools needed to roll the flowers are either a long needle nose tweezers ( these are from my serger sewing machine) or a quilling pen.  A regular tweezer will work as well, but this is what I have :).  You can also roll them by hand too, just remember to keep the roll tight.

You will start rolling from the end you cut to a point and this will be your flower center so try to keep it rolled fairly neatly, yeah don't look too closely at mine huh .It does not matter which way you roll, over or under,  unless you have a front and back to your paper.

As you are rolling the flower you will keep the tweezer or quill pen tight in the center and roll around it keeping the flower as tight as you can around the base without tearing the cs, It will be narrower at the bottom than the top due to the spiral design.  If the tweezer or pen comes out, you probably  won't be able to put it back in, just roll it back up the best you can and continue, keeping it as tight as you can by hand.

This is what your rolled flower will look like after you remove the pen or tweezer before you have done any shaping, which you do by releasing the spiral a little and unwinding it from the center using your fingers, practice will teach you the easiest way to do this.  You can always rewind it if it spirals out of control, don't ask me how I know.

This is the bottom of the flower that you will glue the spiral flower to so remember when you are cutting your original cut this is what you want to leave in the center.

This is what the bottom of the spirals will look when you get it all wound up and ready to attach to the base . I use a clear quick drying glue Aileens Clear Gel Tacky Glue making sure I spread a decent layer over all of the spiral layers or they will be loose and not stay firmly rolled. when dry.  Once I have glued the spirals I lay it flat on the base circle and make sure I have it in a nice flower shape, hold it at top and bottom in the center to dry for a few minutes and then set it aside for a few hours to dry completely.

The flowers here are pretty much the same, the top two are both 3 inch squares, the one on the left I made a larger spiral to have fewer layers which will make it a taller flower as well.  The one on the bottom is a 2.5 inch flower.  You do everything the same just in a smaller square.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.  I love to make my own flowers and very seldom buy them, not just am I too cheap, I always run out late at night.

I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial on how to make your own flowers without having to have any fancy stuffs.  I would love to see some flowers you have made using this tutorial :)

Have a wonderful creative day.

I'm Back

Hi Everyone, I'm back from a very long absence.  Today I have a name frame to show you that was a special request from a work friend to give to a co-worker who just lost her dear fur baby, Tucker:

Not much coloring on this, mostly cricut die-cuts but I wanted to show you what I wanted to say hi and say I am back and will be posting on a more regular basis now.

The frame is something that I make a lot of, usually for baby showers, or Wedding gifts, but this was rather special too and LaShon thinks it will be just the right remembrance.

Have a wonderful creative day...see you later with some more crafty stuff....

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Anything Goes!!

First of March Challenge means the theme for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge is Anything Goes, always a favorite with everyone.  I used Roxy, a great tween image:

I think I am on a polka dot kick right now, but I get there every once in a while, usually in the spring, which by the way needs to hurry the heck up here in Omaha LOL.  The coloring is of course copic markers and the embellishments are from my stash.  I just love the puffy heart.  I have several tween granddaughters that this image would be perfect for, they love to do their nails and fix themselves up to enhance the beauties they already are :)

Be sure to drop by the Mo's Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the DT cards or projects and while you are there be sure to grab a Mo image to participate in the challenge and note the changes happening.  The Challenge Blog will stay around but will be changing to a new challenge every two weeks, which gives you more time to create your projects for the challenge:)  A new group will be opening up on Facebook  and here is a little bit about that:

New Tiddly Inks Challenge--Green!

Once again I had just colored an image and the challenge came out over at Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog that allowed me to use the image for that Challenge....how great is that!!!  I thought this image was so cute when I was over getting some others and I thought it would be perfect for some boy Birthday cards:

Kind of simple but kids don't appreciate fancy.... but I think they will think Rocket Boy is just perfect!

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my little Alien.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Anything Goes!!

Woo Hoo time for a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge and because it is the first of the month it is Anything Goes!!!  Here is my card using My Favorite Kind of Weather:

Sassy Sally says the ground hog may have been wrong so she is trying to Sweet Talk Mother Nature into finally sending Spring.  It has been soooo cold in the mid-west that I for one am ready for Spring.  I used bright happy colors and pretty flowers a new die cut of circles and a sweet request from Sassy Sally and Bella to plead my case LOL.

Be sure to drop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT have created and while you are there, run over to the Sassy Cheryl's Digi store and grab an image or two and play along in the challenge since you can now enter more than one card in the challenge, but you have to use a Sassy Cheryl's image to play.  Remember, you have two weeks to complete you projects for this Challenge.  Also, the DT adds cards or projects on their blogs on the off weeks so check them out too.

Pigtail Gabby--Sassy Cheryl's

I colored the cutest Sassy Cheryl's image this week for the mid challenge preview and here is Pigtail Gabby:

I had a ball coloring this little cutie patootie.  I am getting into my Spring color pallette as I am so tired of snow and cold, it is snowing as I type this :(   Grabbed some of my wooden die cuts and embellished my little cutie.  Hard to call her Sassy when she looks so sweet and innocent here .

Don't forget to drop by the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog and play along in the Add a Ribbon Challenge going on, you have one more week to enter that challenge, just use a Sassy Cheryl's image and you can now enter as many times as you want as long as you use a Sassy Cheryl's image on each card or project, how cool is that!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week.

Tiddly Inks Challenge--Primary Colors and Facebook Challenge use Two images

I am enjoying playing in the Tiddly Inks Challenges and the challenge this week is to use Primary colors.  I picked up a few new images last week and this one worked out well for this challenge :)

With several grandsons of skateboard age this will come in handy,  or I can give it to my daughter to use for the many birthday's that her kids get invited to :)  Left it rather simple, used a die cut I had that is similiar to the hexagon ones I have been seeing that I liked to much, it worked :) and used my cricut to cut the letters for the skateboarders sentiment.  The arrow and star were from my stash.

I also completed the Tiddly Inks Facebook Challenge where the theme is to use two images, which I had just colored two days ago, how funny is that...never happens to me.  Granted both images are from the same set but I think since I had to add them together it should qualify?!?

I originally colored the image to practice my hair and skin techniques for a class I am taking and also I tried out the coloring of folds, I don't think they turned out too bad :)  I like them for a first attempt.  The clouds are airbrushed in and a little light but if you look real hard you can see them.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week, hope you have as much fun coloring as I am :)

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Add a Ribbon!

Time for a new Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and the wonderfully talented Lis, is the hostess who chose the theme,  Add a Ribbon.  Here is what I created using the new, Goodness image:

This darling image was created by Mo as a tribute to Shirley Temple Black who passed away a couple of weeks ago.  You may have known here as just Shirley Temple. I grew up watching all of her movies, good wholesome entertainment, she could sing and dance, she had a contagious smile, and a twinkle in her eye you had to love.

I have been taking a hair and skin coloring class, hope you can see an improvement, if not I am having a lot of fun practicing, means more coloring for me....you never outgrow your need to color :) I am working on folds now too, so expect to see some of that on my images too....fun fun fun.

Be sure to drop by the Challenge blog and see what Ribbons the rest of the DT have added to their projects and cards for you to see, I can't wait to see myself.  The challenge requires you to use a Mo's Digital Pencil image to enter the challenge and a random drawing is held after each challenge and for every 25 entries a 5 dollar gift certificate is given.

Big news is on the horizon for the Challenge Blog and it should be announced this week or next.....

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Use Die Cut or Punch

Time for a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge and our super Sassy and talented hostess this week is Linda, who chose the theme, Use a  Punch or Die:  Using Gabby's Marvelous Adventure, here is my card:

Had a ball coloring this adorable gabby with her tussled pigtails.  I enjoyed reading comic books as a kid, but, I read anything that would stand still long enough.  I got a bunch of new punches last week and they kind of fit the comic book theme.  I used the hand from the Tim Holtz die to direct you to the Kids Reading Room, the Mustache is a part of the same die pack. and I added the letters above and below it for a funny sentiment.  The beautiful yellow rose is a Quilling template and I placed it on a Sizzix die base.   I think they set Gabby off in her Marvelous Adventure World perfectly.

This is a two week challenge so you have plenty of time to play.  Be sure to use a Sassy Cheryl's image or a Kraftin Kimmie Sassy Cheryl's image for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week :)

Kit and Clowder Coloring Challenge

What am I doing posting on Saturday LOL,  I have begun an online coloring class with Alyce of Kit and Clowder,  and the Kit and Clowder Challenge for February is to color....right up my alley and I want to get better, thus the class.  The sponsor this month is Aurora Wings who has some simply amazing and intimidating images so I chose a fairly simple image with lilies, which I love, as my image:

The class I am taking is a hair and skin coloring class, the two areas I need work on, but here is what I came up with for the Challenge.  I love to color and spent several hours "playing" with this image and having the best time.....you  never outgrow your need to color and it is cheaper than therapy :)

Thanks for taking a look at my proof that you can teach Old dogs new tricks, they just don't remember it as long, LOL.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Love is....

Hello Thursday and Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge.  If you live in the US you have probably had some cold snowy weather.  If you are a kid in the midwest of the US you probably love snow and snowmen. so my super talented team mate, Lis's, theme this week may be a Valentine theme, or I took it to be more generic for a  love for snow and snowmen....besides I wanted to use Valerie in Winter :

Isn't Valerie just the cutest!!! She could also work for a Valentines card depending on how you created the card...Lots of red and white.  I made a stick pin* and hand made roses.  The background label is new and the perfect size for a background.  Some white details dots and a couple of gold corner brackets and my sweet Valerie is ready to say I love you this much!!! I forgot to mention that Valerie in Winter is a 3 image set and each one is just cuter than the first.

Be sure to drop by the Challenge Blog and check out  the rest of the DT cards and while you are there grab a Mo's image and play along in the Challenge for a chance to win in the random drawing.

* if you want to make a stick pin to match your project and only have white heads, use Crystal Effects and Stampin Up or Pigment Ink re-inker color of your choice to color the pin heads. Add a drop or two of ink into a small puddle of crystal effects in a small paint cup and I stir with a toothpick.( I usually to a bunch of different colors when I do them, so use a multi section white paint tray they sell at Michaels in the tole painting section.)   I let them dry by sticking them in a piece of thick foam that large brads come on.  They will dry over night.  Don't over do the crystal effects as it will run down the needle.  Don't ask my how I know :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week.

Gilbert's Marvelous Adventure--Sassy Cheryl's Project of the week !

Hello, and welcome to the first week of  in between  Sassy Cheryl's challenge weeks where the DT gets to either create a second card following the challenge theme which this week is Lots of Hearts or create an anything goes card.  This week I chose Door number 2, using the adorable new Gilbert's  Marvelous Adventure:

I have been practicing my hair coloring,  and I am getting more pleased with my efforts.I think Gilbert is happier that is hair looks better :)  I had tons of fun adding lots of elements to my card. The Mustache, arrow, rings , banner and memory washi tape, I think that is about enough, but each one.  I also colored Gabby and her Marvelous Adventure but she wants her own show soon.  :)

If you haven't already be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog and enter your card in the challenge, if you  need to buy a Sassy Cheryl's image drop by the store and get an image or two as you have to use an Sassy Cheryl's image to play in the challenge.   Each of the DT members will also have a Sassy Cheryl's creation on their blog so drop by for some inspiration if you are looking for some cute ways to use those Sassy Cheryl's images.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week.

Vintage Challenge for Tiddly Inks Facebook page

Suffice it to say after a day at the ER with high blood pressure I was sick(no pun intended) of laying around but didn't feel like doing too much so... what better to do than color..... I had gotten a couple of Tiddly Inks images the other day and wanted to color the darling Daddy's Girl.  When I got done coloring it I decided I would look around and see if they had any challenges that I could use her for....yep, one right up my alley, vintage...very apropos :)

Lots of vintage stuffs on this card, so I hope it is vintage enough....a huge rose, I made , the woven mesh looks old, the faux pearls give a vintage look and I love to use them on my vintage cards.  The Tim Holtz metal label attached to the bottom of the image and last but I even added some of my precious vintage buttons from my grandfather's button collection.  My grandparents never threw away a garment with buttons they could save so you will notice the thread is still attached,   I almost forgot my vintage lamp post with the vellum globe.  on the right side.
I have never played in a face book challenge. Hope I did it right or they may invite me to never play with them again....I was so excited to find a new site that had such cute digital images that would make me sad.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Play time for Me--Paper Flowers--Big Shock I know LOL

Hello, blog buddies,  I know you don't usually see me much except on Challenge days but I have spent a lot of time  this week just having a wonderful time playing with my toys and enjoying myself like I haven't done for ages plus the fact that I got a bunch of new toys to play with.  I spent 30 dollars and got 135.00 worth of new crafty toys.

Sadly the Archivers here in Omaha is closing,  I am going to miss them as they carried lots of my favorite products.  I went a few weeks ago and got a couple of Tim Holtz dies at 30% off since I spent 100.00. I decided that since they were getting near the end of the sale, I better see what else they had since the sale was now at 75% off.  I wasn't sure I would find much but I got 4 more TH dies, a couple of Sizzex dies, some ribbon(crochet) and what I am playing with right now. A quilled Flower template kit.  I have bought the tiny rose one before but this one makes different sizes and has instructions for more.  Plus I added my own touches....big surprise yeppers!!!

The flowers shown above in yellow are the large beauty  and the bud,  The paper is more copy paper weight and not cs weight, although cs would work too, they just won't be as pliable.  The purple and pink one is the medium bloom size but since I used two colors it came out the same size as the Beauty.  It was simple to roll both the layers at the same time using the quill tool and just glue the base together.  I am going to make one in  white and pink, I know it will be gorgeous!!! More play time is always a good thing.

The kit is made to be cut out by hand, but I knew I wouldn't be making too many if I had to draw them out and then cut them too.   I am not lazy, but I have toys for a reason!!!  I used my Fiskars circle blade template cutter and was just careful to stay inside the template lines so as to not cut into the template.  I cut the seams, and used my fancy edge scissors to but the outside edge of the circle, rolled with  my quill tool and I have these beautiful roses.
Hope you enjoyed seeing my playtime.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week-end.

Tiddly Inks Challenge Card

I decided to play in a new challenge for me... Tiddly Inks has some really cute images and they come in digital too, right up my alley so I decided to buy a few and play along.  Here is my first card for the challenge this week.   Kecia you are to blame, and thank for this LOL.

The challenge theme is Love is in the Air and I think my card qualifies.  I added a few hearts and handmade roses to the sweet Donna's Adventure.  The images are so cute I had a lot of trouble only choosing 3 :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--J is for

Woo Hoo, it is Thursday and time for a new Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge, which is always our Alphabet challenge, and we are up to J this month.  Here is my card for the J is for... theme:

I used, Pineapple Girl,  for my Alphabet challenge card which is J is for...Juice.  I have the Luau cricut cartridge since my son went to Hawaii on his honeymoon and now my daughter is talking of going to the Caribbean next summer  :)    I used the Tiki hut as the drink stand and made a Pineapple Juice 25 cents sign for the front.  I also added a surf board to give my little Hawaiian sweetie a beachy feel.  The image was attached to the doilie which was mounted onto a green dp.

The star fish and flowers add a little interest along with the satin ribbon which   I tied in a bow and to the center of the card base.  It may not be quite a brightly tropical colors as some, but I like it :)

Be sure to drop by the Mo's Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT has created for you to see.  Lots of inspiration, in case you were having problems with J images, like I did :)  As always grab a Mo's image to play along because for each 25 entries a winner will be drawn at random for a 5 dollar gift cert to the Mo's Store... Cool huh!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week!!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--All about Hearts!

Hello Tuesday, and welcome to the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge new bi-weekly challenge.  This week the challenge is, All About Hearts:

Several years ago Sassy Cheryl created the Candy Cane girl and I loved it so much when it came to Valentines time I asked her to add a Heart and she did.  I LOVE, Lonely Girl,( the link includes 3 images one of which is my image here),  and I think I have used it every Valentines since...Thank you Sassy Boss Lady.  It is a Classic and you can't beat that.  I colored her in rather muted tones of mauve and grey and just had to use my new Sizzix die to center my handmade rose, isn't it sweet? I added a metalic heart to my bakers twine and a strip of washi tape onto which I added a wood die sentiment which I painted black.  Lonely Girl just exudes love to me!!!

Be sure to drop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT members have created for you to see, I know you will love them, always a pleasure for me to see them I know, such a talented group of Sassy Gals.  While you are there grab a new image or two and play along in the challenge as you must use a Sassy Cheryl's image for the challenge, and why wouldn't you want to?!?  The challenges are going to be every two weeks starting this week so you will have two weeks to complete your project.  As always there will be a random drawing for each challenge and the winner will get 2 images of their choosing.

The DT members will be posting cards/projects every week so if you want even more inspiration for Sassy Cheryl's images just drop by every week as the off challenge weeks will be anything goes and you never know what we will come up with :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Spots and Dots!!

Yippee, it's Thursday and time for a new Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge, and the hostess this week is Mau, who chose the theme Spots and Dots.  I love dots and had a lot of fun with the challenge :)

I decided rather than make a card this week I would make a scrapbook page since I had a story to tell LOL.  Stink-eye, the cutest new image from Mo is perfect for my story.... Grandkids are fun!!! Gage, the little guy in the photo, has his name written on his fore head, and the guilty party is....you guessed it, his older sister looking disgusted she was caught.  Really, like no one was going to notice... Her rationale was  he wanted her to write his name and she didn't have any paper...oh to be 6 again and think that would work. Fortunately it was not permanent marker and was able to be washed off before his Birthday Party the next day, LOL. But it is perfect  for my Stink-eye image and a scrapbook page.

Be sure to drop by the Mo's Challenge Blog and see what the other DT members have created for the  challenge and hopefully their dp won't make you dizzy like mine might have :)  Be sure to jump over to the Digital Pencil Shop and grab a Mo image and play along for a chance to win one of the 5 dollar gift certificates given for each 25 entries chosen by random drawing after each challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week. Remember inspiration can come from anywhere :)

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Don't be Square!!!

Whoop Whoop it's Tuesday and time for a new, Sassy Cheryl's Challenge and sweet, talented, Jasmina has given us a fun and possibly challenging theme...Don't be Square!!:

I decided to use this sweet image called, Come on Get Happy, because, although I think Sassy Cheryl designed it as a Valentine image...  I envisioned it  as a young man throwing his heart into the great outdoors and dreaming of traveling the wonders of the world by Air....he has his bag packed and ready to go....  I colored my guy and then cut him out in a circle and cut a larger circle with my cricut.  I used two oval scalloped frames for the under detail.  The base is a cardboard frame cut with the cricut...it was a cricut night and also cut the Old world dp in the same shape just a bit smaller, so the cardboard showed around the edges.  The outside edges were sponged with Tim Holtz sponge paint.

My embellishments are some of my favorites.  Wood die cut plane sponged in brown and blue distress inks and the wood die cut suitcase.  The Tim Holtz Journey label was one of my purchases from Archivers, which is closing,  as was the Love bulb...I hate to see a LLS close, but it is good for my pocket book.  I spent a lot of money there over the years and will miss them.  I hope you like my little rectangle shaped, not square, photo frame altered to showcase this adorable sassy image.

Be sure to stop by the Challenge blog and check out the rest of the DT, Not square projects and see what they have created.  Be sure to grab a Sassy Cheryl's image and play along with the challenge for a chance to win two images of your choice in the random drawing held after each challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week :)

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Lots of Layers

Where in the world do the week's go, it is Thursday and time for a new, Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge, and the theme is:  Lots of Layers.  I chose my new, fun to color favorite, Owl Moon, once again:

I really wanted to color these beautiful owls as Snow Owls, even though they have spikey horny facial feathers which Snow Owls don't, but since it is my card I colored it the way I wanted to anyway.  How many people looking at this have really seen a snowy Owl and know if I am right or wrong unless they look at a picture LOL.  I wanted a certain color palette and went with it.  It's Art.

I colored and airbrushed the main layer and mounted it on a plain white layer, which I then mounted on a longer layer with a scalloped doilie.  I wanted to match my tiny white lace to the pink flowers I had made but didn't have the right color... so I airbrushed it the color pink I wanted...easy peasy.  A trio of tiny bink buttons and a Happy wood die cut is used for my sentiment.  And we won't even talk about how many layers are on the hand made flowers :)  I think I covered the Lots of Layers just fine,  :)

Be sure to drop by the Challenge Blog and check out what the rest of the DT gals have created and grab a Mo's image and play along in the Challenge for a chance to win a 5 dollar gift certificate for each 25 entries in the challenge....

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful...creative...week!!!

Hurray, it's Tuesday and time for a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge. The theme this week is Pearls, use them on your project.

Be sure to drop by the challenge blog and see what the other  DT members have created for you to see.  I know that Sassy Cheryl has been busy creating new images you will love ,  so you need to grab a couple and play along for the chance to win two images of your choice in the weekly random drawing.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Something New!!

What a fun Challenge we have this week for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge brought to you by the super talented Anja, and the theme is, Something New.  I chose my, something new, as a New Image, one of my favorite things in the world!!!:

I chose the new Paddy image for the something new challenge as there is nothing better in my world than a new Mo image  :)  and isn't he just the cutest little Irish boy that you just want to squeeze. I couldn't wait to color him up when I saw him and it was so fun to make him a really dapper young man in greens and tan, with red hair and green eyes.  Best part is that Mo has included the sentiments in the file so... added bonus.
I kept the design and layout rather simple so you just see this adorable New Image.

Be sure to drop by the challenge blog and see what New projects they have created for you to see, I know they will be wonderful as always, so many possibilities.  While you are there, grab a Mo's image and play along in the challenge for a chance to win one of the 5 dollar gift certificates awarded for each 25 entries in th challenge each week, isn't that awesome!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day or week, whatever makes you happy :)

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Winter Blues!!

Yippee!! it's time for a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge and the theme brought to you by the super talented  Kecia, is:  Winter Blues.  Here is what I created using Pogo Joe the Snowman:

I absolutely love this funny snowman since my oldest grandson is a real super star at pogo sticking...not sure that is the right term for a person who jumps on a pogo stick, but it is what I am going with.  He jumps all over their driveway, sidewalk and street on the one he got a year ago for Christmas.  This is the card I created for his Birthday, he just turned into a teen-ager...so when I saw this snowman in Cheryl's new collection I had to have it....

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards over at the Challenge Blog and while you are at it, stop by the Store and grab a Sassy Cheryl's image and play along in the challenge and you may win your choice of two images in the random drawing held each week.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week :)

Rewards of my shopping trip :)

I haven't had a real craft shopping trip for a while,  and although it is sad the Archivers in town is going out of business,  I thought it would be a good time to get some Tim Holtz dies and embellishments at 25 or 30 percent off....Mission accomplished.  While I had time, I decided to play with my new stuffs tonight :).  Here is what I created:

I laced some bakers twine for the shoe strings, used another Tim Holtz die I bought on sale at Michaels a few weeks ago for the pine cone and greenery at the top.    Sometimes it is just fun to play without a reason, except to make something fun...It is still winter and the Winter Olympics and all the skating events are coming up, so I know I will find a reason to use the skates, they are ageless and timeless.

Hope you are all ready for a wonderful week-end.  thanks for stopping by and hope you have time to create something just for fun too!!!

Hugs,
Cathy
